The Society and the Museum would be very grateful for your participation in this event to promote how interesting our local areas can be for natural history and by sharing the vast amount of knowledge that you all have by helping in identifying what can be found.

We would also like some volunteers to chat to and encourage those who attend, by handing out leaflets, to join the Society.

Saturday Evening 27th may

6pm Doors open– welcome – refreshments

6.30pm Naturetrek Talk – Below the hanger and beyond

8pm Refreshments

8.30pm  Tracking Newts and Bats with Steph West from Natural History Museums Identification Trainers & Nik Knight from the Hampshire Bat Group

10pm  Hot chocolate

10.30 pm Investigate Moths with Naturetrek –

Come and experience moths as they are attracted to our light traps and enjoy helping identify and record the first arrivals.   We will have several moth traps set up which should provide some interest for those new to moths as well as the more experienced.  Field Guides will be available to help identification.

Sunday Morning 28th May

6.30am  Breakfast with Moths (Naturetrek) – Discover what we have collected overnight in our moth traps

Share in the excitement and surprise as we reveal the moths that have been attracted to each of our moth traps. Field Guides will be available to help identification.

7.30am Breakfast

8am Selborne Common Walk with Chris Webb our Local National Trust Warden

9.15am – 10.30am Summary of bioblitz findings
